The legend of the red Tulip

So in Ancient Persia was recorded the legend of the Persian ruler Farhad. Passionately in love with the beautiful virgin Shirin, the heir to the throne dreamed of a cloudless family life with an adored girl. But envious rivals dismissed rumors that his beloved beauty Shirin killed. Dazed by misfortune, Farhad jumped on his faithful horse, pointed it at the rocks, jumped from the cliff and hurt himself to death. Life without his girlfriend he had no idea. At the place where the blood of a devotedly loving young man landed on the ground, beautiful bright scarlet flowers grew, which became a symbol of passionate love - tulips. Beauty Shirin in memory of the act of a loved one never married, becoming a flower girl. Every spring she collected a basket of tulips and went to sell them in the city.

The legend of the yellow Tulip

There is a legend about yellow tulips. So once the old witch locked happiness in a Bud of yellow Tulip and put a spell on it. She laughed a malicious laugh and rejoiced in their ingenuity that nobody can open and happiness. Many people tried to get to happiness, but no one could open the Bud of the yellow Tulip: neither the kings with their retinue, nor valiant warriors, nor the most beautiful of the ladies, nor the poor. Since then, a lot of water has flowed, the witch was all happy with his idea to lock happiness in the Bud. But one day the baby, walking in the garden, still unsteady legs, for the first time saw a beautiful sun-colored Bud. The little boy screamed with delight at the beauty he saw and ran to the flower with a satisfied smile. The sturdy man with a happy smile stretched out his tiny hands to him and the Bud blossomed. So pure in heart and soul, the baby managed to break the spell of the evil witch. His genuine joy to be able to open a Bud! Since then, it is believed that the presented bouquets of tulips give birth to happiness or, at least, excellent mood.

Devonshire fairy tale of fairies and white tulips

One night a Devonshire woman named Mary heard a noise in the garden and came out with a lantern to see what had happened. In her garden grew a few white tulips and a woman saw them inside a couple of adorable kids-fairies. She was just fascinated by this picture, and in the same autumn decided to plant more tulips, so they can accommodate all the crumbs of fairies. When the nights were moonlit, Mary walked quietly into the garden and watched the little ones blissfully sleeping in cups of tulips, swaying in the faint breeze. First fairy-sorceress feared that this unknown woman could not harm their children, but later, they saw with some interest and trepidation Mary takes care of the overnight accommodation for kids to have calmed down. Fairies wanted to Express their gratitude to the woman, but did not know how to do it. The smallest fairy offered to decorate tulips with bright colors and give them a fragrance. So the fairies did. Mary was delighted and every year until his death planted hundreds of tulips in the garden.

After her death, the house with the garden went to a very greedy relative. Mercantile and cruel, he first pulled out tulips and uprooted trees, because he believed that the flowers to plant unprofitable, and the trees obscure the garden from the sun. Such a cruel action caused deep disapproval among the fairies. As soon as the darkness fell on the city, they flew from the nearby forest and arranged dances on vegetables, pulled them out with roots, in every possible way spoiled them. This went on for several years. Only appeared vegetables or their seedlings, fairies destroyed them. The only place that was taken care of fairy-sorceress was grave Mary. She was invariably shrouded in gorgeous flowers, and delicious tulips that were planted in the head, bloomed and pleased with its aroma until the first frost. All were surprised of such resistance of tulips, and the fairies knew that in this way they thank their guardian even after her death.

So it took another couple of years. Instead, the greedy relative of the owner became even more ruthless, not at all fond of flowers. He paid the woodcutters, and they cut down the forest where the fairies lived, he completely launched Mary's grave, tulips were torn out, the grave trampled. Fairies left this place, but leaving took back the extraordinary aroma of tulips, leaving only a slight aroma to gardeners continued to grow them.

Thus was born the legend in England of white tulips.
